The Game Changers Networking Event symbolizes a unique opportunity to unite leaders, advocates, and visionaries in pursuing equity in sports and social justice through sport. As we gather during this momentous occasion, your presence will significantly enrich the dialogue and contribute to the collective goal of creating a more inclusive and equitable global community.

Profiles of the Speakers

Leslie Maxie is a media professional, entrepreneur, and former Olympian. A 400 hurdle competitor, she competed in the 1988 Olympic Games and placed in many other international competitions. As a broadcast journalist and born entrepreneur, she has worked for media companies including CBS, NBC and ESPN and has interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports. She is also a world-renowned keynote speaker focusing on achieving excellence, work-life balance and empowering women in the workplace.

H. E. Amb. Minata Samaté Cessouma is the Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development for the African Union. She is a native of Burkina Faso with over thirty years of experience in international relations, Diplomacy, Governance and peace and security, humanitarian and social affairs. She is an enthusiastic career diplomat who is passionate about public service and the fight for a more integrated and peaceful continent.

Dr. Da-Costa Aboagye is a research and academic-practitioner who specialises in Health Promotion and Public Health with specialty in National /Social Health Insurance Schemes Finance, Global Health, Equity and Human Rights, among others. He is also an international consultant and has provided technical support and guidance for the Ghana Health Service and Health Promotion Department. He is a reviewer for several research journals including Global Health Promotion.

Navalayo Osembo is a social entrepreneur, humanitarian worker, lawyer, accountant, and mentor. She is the Co-founder and CEO of Enda Athletic, Inc., which was founded with the mission to bring Kenyan athletic excellence to runners everywhere and draws its inspiration from the great Kenyan runners. She is currently the Head of Africa for On.

Dr. Edwin Moses is one of the most recognized and widely respected athletes in the world. He is a four-time Olympian ('76, '80, '84, '88), two-time Olympic gold medalist ('76 and '84), two-time World Champion ('83 and '87), and former world record holder in the 400 meters hurdles, with a personal best of 47.02. Edwin is also a pioneer in the global anti-doping movement and has led this effort as a part of organizations including the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe, a captain of Ghana’s Wheelchair Basketball team, Black Chariots, has represented his country at three Paralympic Games and secured gold medals in international competitions. He became the first Ghanaian to qualify for the 2020 Summer Paralympics and holds the National Record for 14.62 seconds in wheelchair racing.

Alexis Laura Daniels is an On-Air Personality and founder of the Young Entertainers and Entrepreneurs Hub (ENT HUB), a platform for young entertainers and entrepreneurs to connect and support each other. She is currently a law student at the University of Ghana.

Dr. Nonhlanhla Mkumbuzi is a Sports and Exercise Medicine Specialist, researcher, educator and clinical practitioner. In her clinical career, she has served several of Zimbabwe's national and Olympic teams. Her research work focuses on marginalised athletes and the intersection of biology, race, gender, society and culture, and economics in sport. She is also the founder and executive director at NtombiSport where she develops research programs, clinical strategies and sports medicine policies that are situated in the lived realities of African women and girls in sport.

Dr. Yetsa A. Tuakli-Wosornu is a sports and wellness expert and an athlete. She is interested in helping people achieve high performance at all stages of life through holistic mind-body development. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, she is an interventional spine Physiatrist, a long jumper (representing Ghana until 2016), and she was the International Paralympic Committee's inaugural Welfare Officer. She is the Founder and Chair of the Sports Equity Lab, where her work is athlete-centered and translational, designed to influence global sport.
